1 · How billing works
The Academy is a subscription. You pay for access while it is running, it renews on its own, and it keeps renewing until you stop it. It is self-paced and there is no fixed term: you get in when you pay, you work at your own speed, and you get out when you cancel.
Those prices are the final prices. Nothing is added at checkout — no tax on top, no separate processing fee.
PayPal handles the payment details and the recurring charge, and shows you the price and the billing interval before you confirm anything. Every charge afterwards is visible in your PayPal account, so you can always see what was taken and when.
2 · Payments are not refundable
Money already taken is not refunded. That applies to both plans, monthly and annual. Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not return the last one.
Said plainly, so nobody is surprised later:
- Changing your mind after a payment has gone through does not entitle you to money back
- A month you never logged in is still a month you paid for. The subscription buys access to everything published; how much of it you use is your decision, not a price adjustment
- Not passing a quiz does not entitle you to a refund. What you are paying for is the teaching and as many attempts as you need, not the result
- Losing access for breaching the Acceptable Use Policy does not entitle you to a refund
This is why the whole curriculum is written out on the site before you pay anything, and why there is no minimum term. Read what is in each course, decide it is not for you, and never pay us at all. If you do subscribe and it turns out not to be what you wanted, cancel — on the monthly plan, one month is the most you can be out of pocket.
A billing mistake is a different thing entirely. If you were charged twice, or charged after you cancelled, that is an error on our side and we will put it right. Email us.
3 · Cancelling
Cancel whenever you like. There is no minimum term, no notice period, and nobody you have to talk to first.
The subscription lives in your PayPal account, because that is where the billing agreement sits — you will find it under automatic or recurring payments. Cancel it there. If you cannot find it, email hello@jobtayo.com and we will cancel it for you.
Cancelling stops future payments. It does not switch off your access on the spot: you keep the Academy until the end of the period you have already paid for. A month paid for on the 6th runs to the 6th of the next month, whether you cancel on the 7th or the 27th.
That is the reason there is nothing to refund. You are not cut off the moment you cancel and then asked to swallow the loss — you keep every day you paid for, right to the last one. The money and the access match.
4 · The annual plan
Cancelling an annual plan part way through the year does not produce a pro-rata refund. The unused months are not paid back. Your access runs to the end of the year you paid for, and stops there.
The reason, because a rule like that deserves one. The annual price is ₱9,990 for twelve months, which is two months free compared with paying month by month. That discount exists because the year is paid up front. Refunding the unused months would hand the year back and keep the discount, and then the annual price could not exist at all.
So take the annual plan when you are sure. If you are not sure yet, start monthly. It costs more across a year, and it is the smaller decision to be wrong about.
Cancelling an annual plan early still does something useful: it stops the renewal a year later, so you are not surprised by a second ₱9,990. Your access between now and then is unaffected.
5 · The exam fee
Exams are not part of the subscription. Each one is ₱1,000, billed separately, one exam per specialisation, and the fee includes the live assessment call with a person. It is not refundable either — it pays for the assessment and the assessor's time, not for passing.
The specialisations are still being built, so there is nothing to buy here yet. We will say so the moment that changes, and we would rather tell you that than take money for a course that does not exist.
6 · If we stop the service
This runs the other way too. If we withdraw the Academy or take it offline for good, you do not pay for a period we cannot deliver. We cancel the subscription and refund the part of the period you have paid for and can no longer use — on an annual plan, that is a proportionate amount of the year.
The difference between that and cancelling yourself is the only thing this page really turns on: when you cancel, you keep the access you paid for. When we stop, you cannot.
The exception is losing access under the Acceptable Use Policy. If we remove someone for what they did, that is not the service being withdrawn, and no refund follows.
7 · Statutory rights
Nothing on this page removes a right the law gives you and does not let us exclude. Depending on where you live, consumer law may give you rights that sit above this policy, and where it does, the law wins.
We are a German company and the Academy is built for people working from the Philippines, so which rules apply to you depends on where you are. If you are unsure what you are entitled to, ask us before you subscribe rather than after — hello@jobtayo.com. We would much rather answer a question than argue about a payment.
8 · Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, email us before you open a dispute or a chargeback with PayPal, your bank or your card issuer. Filing one without contacting us first may result in your access being suspended while the dispute is resolved. Talking to us is faster for you and cheaper for both of us. If the problem is a renewal you meant to cancel and did not, say so — that is a two-minute email rather than a month of dispute handling.
9 · Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes are posted here with a new date and never apply backwards. For a subscription that means a change takes effect from your next renewal, not the period you are already paying for — the version in force on the day a payment is taken is the one that governs that payment.
